Somerset County GOP - Sharon Ackerman

Sharon has served as Somerset County Register of Wills and Clerk of the Orphans’ Court since January 2004.

Sharon serves on the Executive Board of the Somerset County Republican Committee. She pledges to devote her energies to growing the Republican Party and developing a strong grassroots political organization. Sharon served as Co-Chairman for Bush-Cheney ’04, County Chairman for Attorney General Tom Corbett in 2004, and County Chairman for McCain-Palin in 2008. Sharon is a graduate of the Anne B. Anstine, Excellence in Public Service Series, Class of 2006. Sharon was elected Somerset County Republican State Committeewoman in 2008.

Sharon is a past President of the Somerset County Chamber of Commerce. She serves on the Board of Trustees of the Meyersdale Public Library and is secretary for the Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery, Inc. She is a past director of the Pennsylvania Maple Festival and the Maple Tree Association. Sharon was the project manager for the Meyersdale Area Historical Society’s Interpretive Museum Project. She enjoys serving as Co-Chairwoman for the Penn’s Woods Council Boy Scouts of American Salute to Women Luncheon Committee.

Sharon and husband, Dan, reside in Meyersdale and are the proud parents of two sons; Staff Sgt. Daniel S. Ackerman and Brock Ray Ackerman.
