Mary “Dimps” Dinning is currently serving a 5th term as Somerset County Clerk of Courts. Mary and her husband, Dale, reside in Somerset Township with their cocker spaniel, Rafiki. The are the parents of four children, Debbie, Richard, Denise and Renee. They also have three grandchildren, Kylie, Ryan and Kamryn.

Prior to her election, Mary was employed in the office for 10 years under the late Paul W. Lutz and the late Jean Rice.

During her tenure, the office has undergone some major changes, including computerization in 1996. More recently, the office went on the new statewide Common Pleas Criminal Court Case Management System instituted by the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts. Mary credits her staff for their dedication and commitment in successfully converting to the new system.

Case filings have increased steadily over the years, averaging 1,200 per year.

Mary continues the tradition of prompt, friendly and efficient service to the public, the courts, law enforcement agencies and the legal profession.
