Somerset County GOP - Annette Isgan

Annette was appointed in January of 2005 to fill the unexpired term of Patricia Platt. Annette was re-elected to a second term in the 2007 general election.

Annette is a lifetime resident of Somerset County. A graduate of Somerset Area High School, she received her undergraduate degree at St. Francis University and her Masters in Business Administration from Frostburg University.

The Auditors’ office main focus is to audit the money keeping records of the County and verify the accuracy of these records. “I understand the importance of the Auditors’ job, which is to ensure that the hard earned tax dollars of the people of Somerset County are spent wisely and responsibly.”

Beginning in 2005, Pennsylvania counties were required to change the method of financial reporting from a cash basis to an accrual basis. This led to more complex recording and reporting methods with the Auditors’ office preparing a detailed report for the Department of Community and Economic Development.

Although her educational background prepared her well for these changes, Annette also enrolled in several seminars to learn more about the new reporting requirements and earned associated continuing education credits. She also attended an instructive program on the methodology to audit Tax Collectors. She has attended the annual meeting of the Pennsylvania State Association of Auditors and has been asked to serve on its budget committee.

“We have been an effective and efficient Auditor team, and I am honored to serve the people of Somerset County in this position.” said Annette Isgan. She continued “I have an excellent working relationship with the row offices in the Courthouse, the District Justice offices and the airport.”

Annette is a very active volunteer with many organizations including St. Peter’s School, 4-H, American Cancer Daffodil Days, Relay for Life, Somerset County Cross Country, Track and Swim Boosters, Somerset County Republican Committee and the American Heart Association. She most recently completed training to become a volunteer for Birthright of Somerset and is an active member of St. Peters Catholic Church.

Annette had the privilege to be chosen as a member of the inaugural class of the Somerset County Leadership Program sponsored by the Somerset County Chamber of Commerce.

Annette resides in Somerset with her husband Sean and three children.
